
Staffordshire Crisis & Resilience Fund 26/27 - Oil Application
for
The Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) is funded by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and runs from the 1st April 2026 until 31st March 2029.
The CRF is a trauma informed, person centred and needs led provision and is not administered on a 'first come, first served' basis.
Oil - Crisis Payments Eligibility Criteria:
The individual needing financial support;
Lives in Staffordshire and can demonstrate proof of residency
Is a Staffordshire care Leaver
Is a vulnerable adult, or adult experiencing financial crisis
Is an adult caring for vulnerable person(s) including children and young people
The main heating source is oil
Is on a low income
Is at immediate risk of being unable to heat their home or run hot water
Vulnerability Gov.uk Definitions:
*Being vulnerable is defined as being in need of special care, support, or protection because of age (whether child or adult), disability, or risk of abuse or neglect - Vulnerabilities: applying All Our Health - GOV.UK
Vulnerability: Applicants are often required to be vulnerable, defined as being:
Physically or mentally impaired (including those in receipt of disability benefits like PIP or DLA).
Pension age.
Pregnant or having dependent children.
A carer.
A care leaver under 25.
Financial Situation: Individuals may be experiencing a sudden, unexpected expense or drop in income, such as redundancy, stolen funds, or a health emergency.
Income Individuals usually must be in receipt of means-tested benefits (e.g., Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction, Universal Credit) or demonstrate a low income.
Residency: Applicants must be living within Staffordshire County in the relevant local authority area.

Cannock Chase
East Staffordshire
Lichfield
Newcastle-under-Lyme
South Staffordshire
Stafford Borough
Staffordshire Moorlands
Tamworth
Crisis payment award: Awards are typically made when all other funding streams (such as savings or other benefits) have been exhausted.
Conditionality: If financial support is provided, the recipient should agree to accepting further support where necessary. Further support could be, budgeting advice, alternative provision in order to build long-term resilience and prevent repeat applications.

Failing to complete this application in full will result in the application being declined.
I am confirming that I am working directly with the household to provide support around their debt, finances or personal circumstances.
I am confirming I have carried out due diligence and to the best of my knowledge this is not a a fraudulent claim. I can verify the applicants ID, I have seen the applicant in person and evidence of the household address and its members
Only fully completed applications, including all relevant evidence that has been checked and verified, aim to be processed within 2 working days from the date and time of submission. I have informed the applicant of this timescale. Any enquiries regarding applications will be redirected back to the referring organisation.
Please note that applications will be closed if the required evidence is not received within 28 days of submission.
In the event of the application being declined the Crisis and Resilience Team will notify the referrer and I will provide support, information, advice and guidance to support the applicant to access alternative support if required.
